Flagship product eliminates home’s major biohazard: the common kitchen sponge

Long Island, NY: Today, Banish Technologies, LLC, a consumer products company specializing in antimicrobial kitchen and home cleaning products, released the first of a series of videos (www.banishsponge.com and youtube) to educate about the biological and health risks of traditional kitchen sponges. The videos also introduce Banish’s flagship products, Banish kitchen sponges.

When family members of company founder Dr. John Wilson contracted antibiotic resistant infections, he was motivated to develop antimicrobial kitchen and home products. Antibiotic resistant infections can be untreatable and, while they recovered, Dr. Wilson was disquieted that a common infection could putting their lives at risk. “My goal was very clear: minimize the risk my family and loved ones face from microbial hazards, in particular antibiotic-resistant bacteria. As it turns out, the kitchen sponge is orders of magnitude worse than anything else we encounter. I was genuinely stunned and simply had to create a solution.”

Dr. Wilson founded Banish Technologies with the objective of fundamentally improving peoples lives and health without making them more complicated. Banish products will bring the antimicrobial material science technologies he created into homes to solve problems everyone faces. The Banish Sponges are the first step in that journey.
